XSPUtil.relativeFilename ???

Hello!

Does anybody know how works XSPUtil.relativeFilename()?

Why
     XSPUtils.relativeFilename("/path/file.xml", request, (ServletContext)
context) != <docBase>/path/file.xml ?
I tried to use it from a subdirectory of application context path and got:
<docBase>/subdirectory/path/file.xml instead of <docBase>/path/file.xml

What's wrong?
