Hm, not sure this is actually possible. At least not with Java 6. The same problem of this alias folder is even present in Windows Explorer, when you try to open it, it will give you an error (the only help against this is, it is normally hidden). (Funny enough command line automatically follows the redirection).

I think the right thing would be to represent the folder as a symlink to \Users.
