Apache 2.0 and PHP 4.2 RC2

Has anyone been able to get  APACHE 2 to work with PHP 4.2
 
I configure Apache2 with  --enable-so
 
And then I try to get the PHP to run with 
--with-apxs2=/usr/local/apache2/bin/apxs
 
It configures no problem.. but It fails when I try to make install..
 
Has anyone figured it out?

You may wish to check the PHP lists at http://news.php.net. It seems 
that 4.2 is incompatible, I've installed the CVS version with Apache 
2.0.35 and it seems to work.
