Is something wrong with this file?

Hi, I'm on OSX and when I use gnutar ztf on the following file

 xml-axis-beta2-src.tar.gz

Under beta2 distribution I get

xml-axis/java/wsdd/v2dd/docs/v2dd_p8.png

gzip: stdin: decompression OK, trailing garbage ignored
gnutar: Child returned status 2
gnutar: Error exit delayed from previous errors
