XLS support on Drools component

Hi all,
I made a patch on the Drools component to manage also xls (Excel) files: 
with Drools, as you probably know, the rules can be written on classic 
text files, or in xls files, with a predefined syntax.
Is this patch interesting ?
Should I open a Jira and contribute it ?
