[~Shelly_LC] Thank you so much for your contribution and it is indeed a valuable one, however it is not a BUG. Basically the bug is something that one claims should work but it doesn't. In this case it was more of a missing feature. One may argue IF we should support EL for Broker-URL, but it also means that in its original implementation the developer decided not to and therefore never claimed that EL Should work.
Anyway, would you consider re-classifying this JIRA as "Improvement" rather then a "Bug". This will help the greater community and users to separate the two.

Meanwhile I'll review and if all is good will merge the PR.
