Hi

Hi Joshua,

Saw your thread looking for toolkits.

I run https://browser.mt/ to distribute Marian locally in the browser
for privacy while running fast enough to be usable. Arguably the
browser is more universal than the JVM these days.

We're also aiming to improve the Marian developer experience:
https://marian-project.eu/ which could grow to involve Apache.

Marian already has a community of people making and using language packs:

https://github.com/Helsinki-NLP/OPUS-MT-train
https://huggingface.co/transformers/model_doc/marian.html

I'd be keen to see these turn into larger continually updated packs.
And of course we provide some of the data: https://paracrawl.eu/.

To be clear, I'm not the lead maintainer of Marian but I do have an
interest in making it more of a community project. And you can expect
Marcin to show up in this thread if need be.

Kenneth

Hi Kenneth,

Browser MT is a very unique project!
Thanks for the link.
I took a note of it -- we will/should be covering it in the NMT survey.
And of course, Marian-nmt is already on our list.

Best,
Thamme
