[jira] [Commented] (MESOS-337) New Logo for Mesos Project

    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/MESOS-337?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=13557848#comment-13557848 ]

Benjamin Mahler commented on MESOS-337:
---------------------------------------

Here are my freeform thoughts:
I like the concept of "boxes", and I prefer the lower case font (gives me a notion of greater simplicity, I find it less intimidating).

Here's what I would have in mind for a logo:
-Mesos strives for simplicity, in terms of code _and_ design. I can imagine a logo of flat squares as well, instead of 3D boxes. This might do a better job at giving a notion of simplicity.
-It might be interesting to attempt to incorporate the master/slave design into the logo. For example, there is a central box that is different than the others.

I do like the one on the right, but I'd like to also see a flatter design (as mentioned). I think a combination of the simple lower case font with flat boxes (i.e. just simple squares, maybe rounded corners?).

I'd love to hear the thoughts of benh and the other committers.

Thanks!

> Within Twitter, we have a designer graciously offering time to help out with a logo.
> It would be nice if we could involve the community in this process. What do people have in mind for what a mesos logo should look like?
