When doing an error in configurating for a plugin an IllegalStateException is produced (e.g. RollingFileAppender without a date pattern in filePattern). 

The IllegalStateException contains in the error message the reason for the exception ('Pattern does not contain a date'), but this information gets lost in PluginBuilder.build() and is also never logged, even on trace level in configuration.
