Foreword for the complete manual

Michael P. Canzoneri suggested to write a foreword for the complete
log4j manual. I think this is a good idea except that other log4j
contributors might also like to participate. I think many people
deserve to write the foreword. This can perhaps be even done
collaboratively.

Anyway, is anyone interested?
