SAX2.0 on Xalan

Does Xalan supports SAX2?
 
It seems that Xalan only knows about DocumentHandler which is SAX1 and not
about ContentHandler which is SAX2.
Is this the case?
 
Is this changing in Xalan 2.0? How do you manage namespaces today?
