[Fwd: Adding Mac OS X to the list of modern operating systems]

Acked.

I'm -0 on this; if we did it, we'd reasonably have to add BeOS,
OS/2, OS/390, and so on.

Comments?

I don't get a vote, but...

MacOS X is basically a fancy new Unix variant. If you wanted to be
consistent, then adding MacOS X to the list would also require adding
HP-UX, Solaris, Linux, etc, etc. With pre-"X" releases there might
be some merit to this, since MacOS was/is a very different beast,
but starting at MacOS X it's basically BSD as far as Apache is concerned.

I'd suggest not doing this. At most, you might consider adding a
note indicating currently-supported Unix variants. But even that
doesn't seem all that important.

that should be on the way, as well as a complete rewrite of the stack, fd ==
sockets etc etc

not sure what the resolution was on this, but beos doesn't quite qualify
as "modern" in my books -- at least not until they add in a writev for
sockets.
