In case you miss my comments on BIGTOP-2285 due to it already being resolved:

I don't think HADOOP_VERSION should be plumbed all the way through qfs's do-component-build and install_qfs.sh scripts via command line args. You can get it for free by sourcing bigtop.bom from these scripts, as is done for other apps.
