public static properties of servlet class

Hello all,
I have one small question:
Assuming that I have following  property in the servlet
class:

public static Object test = new Object();

AFAIK such object should never be garbage collected (true or not?).
What will happen if the servlet classloader will 'unload' this servlet?
Is the 'Class' object for my servlet class still holding reference to my
'test' object or it's going to be garbage collected?
