Get JetSpeed Userid in custom application

We are developing application using jetspeed.The login module is maintained
by the jetspeed.The custom appli cation has its own customer.How can i map
the jetspeed user to custom application?

Is it possible to get the jetspeed logged in users id from session,to map to
custom applicaiton customer.
