Spreadsheet errors

Hello
I have been using an OpenOffice  spreadsheet for 7 years now.  
Suddenly this week when when I open it it, a pop up box opens with ASCII Filter options.
If I leave as selected the page opens with a Full page of #’s. And all my data is not showing.
What to I do to get the information back?
I have it saved on a flash drive.
