recognizing move event at create level

I am trying to perform various associations on my media when certain
events happen, ie move create, delete etc. The problem I am having is
that I need to listen and perform an association on a create, as well as
update an association on a move. 

The question is - does create know that is being called by the Move
macro? If so, how, and if not, how can I work around this.
