servicemix-http problem deploying in Tomcat
I'm having trouble deploying a SU to servicemix-http in an embedded Tomcat
(5.5, JVM 1.5) environment in both Windows and Linux. I suspect I'm missing
something in the configuration. (Bruce Snyder has been helping me with
this, but I'm under deadline pressure, so thought someone here might have a
better clue than I.)
First off, I can deploy all my SEs, SUs, SLs and SAs fine using Fuse-3.0.1
in standalone mode. I've installed the apacehe-servicemix-web-3.1.0.3.war
in the Tomcat webapps directory. Then I use the "deploy" directory to
hotdeploy my stuff in the Tomcat context. Everything loads fine (no
errors), and using either the web console or JConsole, I see that the
external endpoints are set up correctly, and loadReference() in JConsole
reports the right URL to the service endpoint.
My endpoint defs in xbean.xml in the SU I'm deploying to servicemix-http
look like this:
<http:endpoint service="acq:AcquisitionService" endpoint="POST"
locationURI="http://0.0.0.0:8192/ucsa/post/acquisition" role="consumer"
soap="false"
defaultMep="http://www.w3.org/2004/08/wsdl/in-out"
wsdlResource="classpath:com/mtvi/ucsa/messages/acquisition/AcquisitionService.wsdl"
/>
But the port (0.0.0.0:8192) is not getting bound, and there are no error
messages anywhere (in the fuse or catalina logs). The "servicemix.xml"
config is untouched (except for enabling hot-deploy monitoring). Do I need
to add an activation spec there to turn on the servicemix-http SE somehow?
All of my other SEs are starting up fine, so I wouldn't expect so.
Originally I thought that Tomcat might be blocking the port bind for
security purposes, but I've been told that's unlikely, and at the very least
would have resulted in a security warning in one of the logs.
Anyone have any ideas?

FYI, the wsdl will be rewritten with the right url for the service.
It should be available at
http://localhost/jbi/myService/
where myService is computed from the path of the original uri you put
in the endpoint.

I have deployed servicemix-http correctly. I looked at the web.xml file and
discovered the servlet mapping to "jbi/*". I am able to hit the url that
way (listing the available ports), but it still displays the console stuff.
What I really want to do is use the exact url in the wsdl. In that case,
what I probably need to do is set up a separate host mapping in Tomcat
server.xml bound to that address and point it to the binding servlet.

You see the endpoints but the port is not open and you can't browse
the services ? Sounds weird.
Have you raise the log level to DEBUG ?

If you use apache-servicemix-web distribution, you just have to
install the servicemix-http component. A servlet should already
be set up by the web app.

Update: I discovered I need to configure a BindingServlet. The examples I
found have endpoints defined directly in the servicemix.xml file. The quest
is, how do I use the xbean.xml files with the binding servlet? Really, all
I want to do is proxy all requests to a specific port to the http BC.
