external-graphics
Am I using the property <fo:external-graphics> to
insert a gif file in my pdf document but does the
cocoon servlet return the following error
"Unknown
formatting object
http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Format^external
graphics",
exist solution?

In any case it would be <fo:external-graphic>, not <fo:external-graphics>. :-)

As you don't tell what version of Fop you use, I would guess you just use the one
coming with Cocoon. As support for external-graphics just has been added recently,
you are probably using a version of Fop which doesn't support it.
