Slightly OT - specific problem viewing svg in MS IE5
I realize that this is not a Batik question, but the group may be the only
one with the .svg experience to offer helpful advise:
I am creating .svg with Illustrator 9..... and viewing them in MS IE5.5.
Nice transparancies, etc.
My problem is this:
Up to this morning I was viewing them OK in MS IE5.5 but only as long as
they are being served from a server on the same lan as the browser, that is
on the same network (domain).... but whenever I attempted to view them from
a browser on a workstation over the web (eg, not on the same lan), I was
getting an error to the effect that the "dtd" was being violated (the one in
the svg...) pointing to the xml:space="preserve" attribute in the first line
of the svg content:
<svg width="560pt" height="551.395pt" viewBox="0 0 560 551.395"
xml:space="preserve">
error ------------------------------------------------------------^
When I went to test it this morning .... it worked ! ..... does anyone know
why? Has anything changed over the weekend? Liek maybe this thing?:
<!DOCTYPE svg PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD SVG 20000303 Stylable//EN"
Just wondering.... maybe someone else had the same experience .... my
servers didn't change that I know of ..
