Description:
Please see an attached project. It is basically have dependency to the actual rar code in external jar. That jar is shared between connector and other components (EJB, web, etc) in the same EAR. Rigth now I have to use jar goal and rename result jar to rar in the postgoal (see maven.xml). I believe rar plugin should support such configuration.
Actually Sun's blackbox connectors are built this way too. Basic idea is that JCA 1.0 allow only one connector per rar, so I have to create multiple projects with only rar deployment descriptors and build all of them using reactor.

In your report to said you would attach a project for demonstration, but you did not. Without this information it would be difficult and unnecessarily time consuming for us to guess what exactly you want. So if you don't want this issue to remain open for another year ;) I suggest that you provide some more information, otherwise I will close it as incomplete.
PS I am sorry for the lag but this plugin has been unmaintained for a long time and we are just now trying to clean up for m11.

Lukas, of course you can write anything in maven.xml, nothing is major.
As about project, you can use take this one from https://xcommonj-work.projects.dev2dev.bea.com/servlets/ProjectSource It is using m1 as a build system and build rar as well.
