uri parser?
Does anyone know of a general URI parser tucked away in the code
somewhere, or failing that, available elsewhere?

Have you checked that your font actually has that character?

Fop ignores my unicode character
Posted by Cyril Rognon <cr...@objectiva.fr>.
Hi again list !
thanks to Chris, I have discovered two unicode character to represent
checked and unchecked checkboxes. Now I am trying to use it in my xsl style
sheet to produce them checkboxes in my pdf output but all I get with fop is
a # character.
I am using <xsl:text> ☑</xsl:text> to insert this U^2611 character
(checkbox), like I have seen it done with the euro sign (wich works by the
way, with the U^20AC character).
all I have in return is a # !
Should I do some configuration change to my Fop ?
Should I use some new font ?
Thanks

Try U+2611, BALLOT BOX WITH CHECK, or U+2612, BALLOT BOX WITH X.

Hi list,
I am not sure it is the right place to post but since many of you speak
about unicode you might know about that :
I am looking for a way to insert checked checkbox an unchecked checkbox in
my documents. The unchecked one is a dingbat character, but I cannot find a
checked version. Is ther any one or should I import some font that takes
care of it ?
Thanks

Keiron,
Thanks. I was looking at the handling of 'url(...)' in the property
expression parser, and I thought that the general solution would be a
uri parser.

There is a uri parser in batik since they also need to handle uri's.
This is one of the classes that is used:
http://cvs.apache.org/viewcvs.cgi/xml-batik/sources/org/apache/batik/util/ParsedURL.java?rev=1.9&content-type=text/vnd.viewcvs-markup

Ulrich,
I don't have much understanding of this arcana, but it looks as though
java.net.URL will parse a known http: protocol URL. It won't identify
the extent of a URL in piece of input text, or so it seems on cursory
examination.
I had just noticed that there was no lexical token for a
URI-SPECIFICATION in PropertyParser, and wondered whether it was easy to
find a parser.

HTTPPool has a URI class that is quite a bit better than the
java.net.URL class. It can be found at
