Cocoon 1.8.2 will not run with tomcat / windows / jdk1.3

There seems to be a problem running Cocoon through tomcat 3.2.2 / jdk1.3
on windows. I got it running fine on Linux with jdk1.2.2 and tomcat, but
on windows (98SE, ME, and 2000 Pro), there doesn't seem to be a way for
servlets and Cocoon to co-exist. First, renaming jar files seems to
make no difference. Second, all jar files must be in jre/lib/ext in
order for the servlet engine to even work on windows, so removing
xml.jar and parser.jar from that path is not an option - it makes the
server engine fail.

Is there another environment besides tomcat that Cocoon can run through,
so that I can develop XML/XSL apps on a windows platform? (the final
target would be linux - which as I mentioned, does work)

Thanks.

hi,

I am successfully install the cocoon1.8.3 to my PC ( windows 98 ) with Tomcat 3.2.1 and JDK
1.3.1, and also successfully install the cocoon2 to my PC ( windows 98 ) with Tomcat 3.2.2 and
JDK 1.3.1.

May i know what error message you get when you install or run the cocoon ?

Regards,
