checkout failing for large repository

This is my first time posting to a mailing list, so I apologize if things
aren't quite right.

I have a large repository (about 8 GB) that I've been using successfully in
my home network for about a month now. I'm having trouble doing a fresh
checkout of the repository to my laptop through TortoiseSVN - it goes fine
for about a gigabyte or two and then fails with the following message:

Error: REPORT request failed on '/svn/repository1/!svn/vcc/default'
Error: REPORT of '/svn/repository1/!svn/vcc/default': Chunk delimiter was
invalid (http://192.168.1.x)

I was hoping that someone could give me some insight into the problem,
especially in helping me determine if it's something wrong with my system
configuration, or an actual bug in subversion.

Thanks,
Brian

The server is linux (Ubuntu server 7.10). The client is running WinXP SP2
with TortoiseSVN. I'm glad that 8GB shouldn't be a problem for subversion
and look forward to it not being one! If you fixed the problem on your mac
server, is it something that might work for me?

Thanks!

Server is using 1.4.4. Windows is using TortoiseSVN 1.4.7 (which uses svn
1.4.7 -dev)

What version of svn are you using, Brian? Do you remember what
version you were using, Paul?

Is the server on a Mac? I had that sort of trouble with a Mac server,
several releases ago. Other servers were fine. An 8 GB repository
shouldn't be a problem.
