[jira] [Created] (BIGTOP-1308) Installing HBase removes chrony if
it is configured
Sean Mackrory created BIGTOP-1308:
-------------------------------------
Summary: Installing HBase removes chrony if it is configured
Key: BIGTOP-1308
URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/BIGTOP-1308
Project: Bigtop
Issue Type: Bug
Reporter: Sean Mackrory
Assignee: Sean Mackrory
HBase Debian packages recommend ntp, which conflicts with chrony. I believe ntp is not actually a dependency of HBase, but recommended simply as a way to prevent clock skew which would adversely affect HBase. Chrony fulfills the recommendation in the same way, so recommending either one is acceptable, and installations should not force the removal of chrony.
