SOAP with EXE instead of DLL

Hi,

is there a way to make soap working with *.exe instead of *.dll
components on server side?
I had no problems to use dll's in order to provide a web service. But my
task is, to use some cpp-exe-files (middle tier of an 3-tier
application) for providing a webservice.
Therfore I tried to use 4s4c (http://www.pocketsoap.com/4s4c/), which is
imho a good tool for soap in a microsoft environment, but in vane.

Who has any information about using EXE's for web services?
