[jira] Created: (VELTOOLS-103) ImportSupport really needs a unit
test
ImportSupport really needs a unit test
--------------------------------------
Key: VELTOOLS-103
URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/VELTOOLS-103
Project: Velocity Tools
Issue Type: Test
Components: Test
Affects Versions: 1.4, 2.0, 2.x
Environment: All
Reporter: Christopher Schultz
Priority: Minor
ImportSupport needs a unit test.
I wrote one a while ago, but it depends upon a (small) library that I wrote. I have since released that library under the Apache License V2.0 on SourceForge.net (http://sourceforge.net/projects/tuc). If the team is okay with including this library as a test-time dependency, I can submit a working unit test very quickly (just have to update it to 2.0-standards, if anything).

I would certainly like to submit the library to the ASF directly. In fact, I tried to do that some months ago, but it's hard to figure out what the procedure is to donate code like that. I'd appreciate any pointers you could give to me. As a standalone library, it's quite modest (it is only 9 class files), so inclusion into something a bit more useful (and well-known ;) would certainly be helpful in increasing its use.

That seems ok to me.
Why not also submit this library for inclusion to commons-net? I've got the feeling it would fit quite well in it.

Attachment: VELTOOLS-103.zip
A new class to test ImportSupport.
Also includes a "Handler" class that hooks into a loopback URLConnection testing library that needs to be added as a test dependency. See other comments for details.
