[Bug 3993] New: RegistrarBoundaries::split_domain() handles ..us incorrectly?
http://bugzilla.spamassassin.org/show_bug.cgi?id=3993
Summary: RegistrarBoundaries::split_domain() handles
<city>.<state>.us incorrectly?
Product: Spamassassin
Version: SVN Trunk (Latest Devel Version)
Platform: Other
OS/Version: other
Status: NEW
Severity: normal
Priority: P5
Component: Libraries
AssignedTo: dev@spamassassin.apache.org
ReportedBy: felicity@kluge.net
the original code considers "geneseo.il.us" a domain.
according to the code, it's supposed to be a deligatable TLD. what happens is that there aren't enough
domain parts to match for the domain, so it is passed through unmodified.
this seems to agree with the RFC to some degree -- it's not clear what we should consider the domain:
<city>.<state>.us versus <something>.<city>.<state>.us versus ...
Thoughts?
the RFC, BTW: http://www.neustar.us/policies/docs/rfc_1480.txt
