apr dbd oracle driver does not work under AIX/ppc and Solaris/sparc

Hi,

I have filed a bug in bugzilla for this issue:

https://issues.apache.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=50690

I have attached a patch to the bug report to fix this problem.

Here a brief description of the error:

The apr dbd oracle driver works fine under Linux/x86, Solaris/x86 and
Windows/x86. However under AIX/ppc and Solaris/sparc the check
connection select fails. Oracle returns the error "ORA-24374: define not
done before fetch or execute and fetch".

I'm wondering that no one ever tried the oracle driver on AIX/ppc or
Solaris/sparc?

Regards,
Stefan

That's entirely possible: it's a combination of minority platforms (for apache users).

Looking at your patch, the comment about Perl suggests that it's doing something
for which Perl's DBD::Oracle was the best (or only) available reference at the time.

Anyway, your patch looks uncontroversial - thanks!
