[Webplatform.org]

Hi All,

I started a page about PhoneGap on webplatform.org
http://docs.webplatform.org/wiki/mobile_web/PhoneGap, it's still marked as
'incomplete' because I would like to get your feedback and some suggestion
about which other topics can be covered in the page.

I also would like to create one about ripple so any suggestion is more
than welcome.

Cheers,
Giorgio

Nice work Giorgio!

Personally, I'm not sure that you need to include such a detailed set-up
> guide.

I have to agree with Michal. The setup guides are dependent on vendor SDKs
and, as a result, vary with each release of Apache Cordova. It would be
more accurate and less work to just link back to our guides.

I see no information there that isn't already publicly accessible, so
I don't see why not.

Personally, I'm not sure that you need to include such a detailed
set-up guide. You would be better off just pointing to the existing
PhoneGap documentation. This way, the page does not risk going out of
date as we update the project (and we plan to change the setup steps
soon).

But that is up to you!

Hi All,

I would like to make the page public, what I can promise is that I'll keep
it updated and I will add information week by week...

Re: [Webplatform.org]

Hello Giorgio,

I've taken a quick glance, and everything seems correct at first glance.
However, I wonder what the point of this writeup is? If it is meant to be
an introduction/descriptions of cordova to users, then I suspect it is not
worth focusing on where the name cordova comes from, or why the apache
foundation was specifically chosen and so on. At least not at the very
start of the description (you could offer references to these facts at the
bottom, perhaps).

If I was reading this writeup as a novice, I would appreciate knowing the
those technical details you outlined, and the bit of history you added, but
more importantly, I'de like to know why I would want to use cordova and
what it would mean if I did. I think you should touch on cordova vs native
vs pure mobile etc.

Good luck!

Hi All,

The link to tizen has been added and I promise to work one hour each week
on the page to improve it and make it less dependent on vendor SDK.
Thanks to everybody for the feedback!
