Note that mod_dav has a bit of this capability. See DAV_DISABLE_WRITABLE_PROPS
in dav/main/props.c.

Hard problem. Systems like mod_dav_svn could do this much better, so mod_dav
needs to learn a way to allow providers to control the set/get of the content type.
