Tapestry and W3C standards

Hi,

I have a question regarding Tapestry standard components compliance with 
W3C standards. Are they compliant with HTML 4 Strict or transitional ? 
Is there a way to make them output XHTML 1.1 compliant code ?

I would be great if Tapestry generates code that is approved by the W3C 
validator ( http://validator.w3.org ).
