php & apache problem
hi there,
i configured and "make", "make install" php, but now i allways get the following error, when i try to start apache:
"Syntax error on line 210 of /usr/local/apache/conf/httpd.conf:
Cannot load /usr/local/apache/libexec/libphp4.so into server: /usr/lib/libz.soø
: shared object not open
/usr/local/apache/bin/apachectl start: httpd could not be started"
How can i get php to work with apache?

Can we guess that you are using FTP and not the default M$FP2k method as the
publishing scenario? And can we guess that you are using a local ID and PW
on the box itself - I don't believe you can authenticate thru the Apache
system to your domain controller - or can you ???

I have installed Apache Web Server for NT in my LAN. And I want to modify
the INDEX.HTML file from my Notebook using MS Frontpage.
But when I enter the the site name, Frontpage ask me about username and
password. Where should I enter the username/password entry in Apache or this
is should be enter in WIN NT?
i'm sorry i'm new to the list, but i'm extremely knowlegeable on apache,
what's your problem and what are you trying to accomplish?

Sorry about the lack of info - I just sent a mail in a while ago with
the same type of problem, in which I specified a bit more (just before
sending the mail you actually responded to).
In fact, after a cup of coffee, I figured it out - now I'm trying to get
PHP to work without breaking stuff..

Configuring mod_perl and keeping the RedHat layout

Hello all,
I got as far as configuring and installing httpd without mod_perl in it,
and installing it in the right place. Now I'm trying to put mod_perl
into the mix, and do that again, but it seems to be a bit stubborn: it
keeps the Apache (default) layout, even if I put the proper commands on
the configure line, pass them to APACI with the Makefile.PL, etc.
Can't seem to get this right, but should be possible.. any pointers?

make sure before running make install of apache to delete the old
httpd.conf file in your httpd/conf directory.
By default apaches make install won't override your current httpd.conf.
Also make sure the path for the libphp4.so exists.
