NormalizedPortletEntry Class

I would like to use the NormalizedPortletEntry class
to add, update and delete portlet entries to the
local-portlets.xreg file.  However, I noticed that it
is no longer included in the nightly builds.  What
class should be used for this purpose.  Can you also
point me to some example code within the Jetspeed
source, if any exists, that either reads or writes to
the local-portlets.xreg file.
