you should definitely ask the mod_perl mailing list about this - I
haven't worked on that in quite a long time.

all that said, what I did do is here

  http://www.modperlcookbook.org/~geoff/modules/experimental/Apache-Template-2.00_01.tar.gz

though I have absolutely no idea whether it works for the current
version of TT or not.
