[jira] [Commented] (INFRA-6707) Archive and then remove http://perl.apache.org/dist/

Tony Stevenson commented on INFRA-6707:
---------------------------------------

The import has been done, and the wc is now being populated - and will be done in <2 minutes. You are now using svnpubsub for your dev, and releases.

Enjoy.

> Following discussion between myself (stevehay) and danielsh on #asfinfra on 21/08/2013, I would like to get things moving towards setting up svnpubsub for the Apache perl (mod_perl) project, the first step of which is to archive the current contents of http://perl.apache.org/dist/.
> I note that http://archive.apache.org/dist/perl/ already has files in it, but differs somewhat from http://perl.apache.org/dist/. I think the simplest approach (which nobody on private@perl.apache.org objected to) is to copy the entire contents of http://perl.apache.org/dist/ over the top of the existing http://archive.apache.org/dist/perl/, thus updating to the current version any files that already exist in the destination location, and adding any missing files, whilst also leaving behind any old files which are no longer in the source location.
> After this has been completed please can you also then delete the entire http://perl.apache.org/dist/ folder. Future releases will be placed in http://apache.org/dist/perl/ (with old versions in http://archive.apache.org/dist/perl/) as per instructions in http://www.apache.org/dev/release
