[jira] [Commented] (GUACAMOLE-288) Add support for multi-monitor connections

Ricky commented on GUACAMOLE-288:
---------------------------------

Hey all, just wondering if you guys are considering both RDP and VNC here? The title of the issue seems to include both, but the comments don't really seem to be addressing VNC (which is what I'm more interested in :)). Should I/someone make an issue that is VNC-specific?

Re: methodology, not sure how feasible it would be but maybe Guacamole could implement the method that ScreenConnect (and probably others) use, which is simply to give the user the ability (via a hover menu) to choose whether to display monitor 1 or monitor 2? And as far as detecting multiple monitors goes, maybe you could simply allow the user to slice the display however they would like, once the aspect ratio isn't compatible with the size of the browser window?

For example, if the connection has a resolution of 3840x1080 (i.e. two 1920x1080 monitors side-by-side), allow the user to split that into however many "monitors" they would like. The obvious choice in this example would be to split it in half, and then allow the user to select which half to interact with.

Currently, connecting via VNC to a server with multiple monitors is practically unusable on a small display, since everything is so tiny and there isn't a way to zoom in on the client side. I've found myself scaling up my terminal and browser windows on the server to make up for it, but this isn't possible in all applications. Honestly, at this point, I would take _any_ solution that allows me to enlarge a given part of the display on the client side.

> Hello,
> I'm wondering if multi monitor support for RDP (and maybe even VNC?) is on Guacamole's roadmap? Currently, when we RDP to a workstation with multiple displays, we only see the primary display. Can't find any options in the connection settings to configure multiple monitors.
> I've found a ticket on the old Jira where a developer suggested it may be a trivial fix that involves adding a few flags and then the ticket went quite in 2015...so just wondering if this feature is in fact being added and if there is any ETA for it?
> Thank you
