bayes journal permission problem

Hi Guys

I have recently upgraded to SpamAssassin version 2.63, on my Debian Woody
server.

Periodically, the owner and group on two files, bayes_journal and bayes_toks
seem to change to root and man.

drwxr--r-- 2 gareth gareth 232 Feb 2 18:17 .
drwxr-xr-x 10 gareth gareth 504 Jan 31 08:47 ..
-rw-r--r-- 1 gareth gareth 8968467 Jan 30 15:24 all.out
-rw------- 1 root man 65453 Feb 2 18:09 bayes_journal
-rw------- 1 gareth gareth 356352 Feb 2 18:00 bayes_seen
-rw------- 1 root man 4710400 Feb 2 18:00 bayes_toks
-rwx------ 1 gareth gareth 1579 Jan 30 12:25 user_prefs
-rw------- 1 gareth gareth 1165 Jan 6 21:16 user_prefs.bak

When this happens, my cron to run sa-learn fails on permission errors, and I
have to su to root and change these back again to gareth and gareth.

Does anyone know why this is happening?
