[jira] [Created] (QPID-7557) Expose information about the current connection

Keith Wall created QPID-7557:
--------------------------------

Summary: Expose information about the current connection
                 Key: QPID-7557
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/QPID-7557
             Project: Qpid
          Issue Type: Improvement
          Components: Java Broker
            Reporter: Keith Wall

VirtualHost model should be enhanced to allow a client to know information about its *current* connection. It will be an analogue to the Broker#getUser which returns information about the current user. The information should include remore/local IP address and port, protools and transport. This should work for both AMQP and HTTP connections.

For AMQP connections, the information returned should be be sufficient to allow a client to find the Connection management object, if required.

A use case for this feature is test automation - specifically the performance / interversion test frame that records details of the tested connection as part of the results.
