--- Comment #4 from Ian Pestelos <ia...@gmail.com> ---
INITIAL RESULT: Cannot replicate this using:

OSX Yosemite 10.10.1 and AOO 4.1.1 [OO411m6(Build:9775) - Rev. 1617669
2014-08-13 09:05:42 (Wed, 13 Aug 2014)]

I ran tests using a file from each of the formats (odp, ppt, pptx) containing
text and images, same set of files for all tests.

My goal is to isolate if the scrolling problem is caused by OO Impress, and
none of these tests resulted to a crash. See the steps I’ve taken below:

[1] I opened each of the data files and scrolled through different scroll
areas: the slide thumbnail pane, slide itself, master pages pane (which does
not scroll btw), slide transitions pane, gallery pane, navigator
[2] I opened each of the data files and scrolled through the slide on different
view modes: normal, outline, notes, handout, slide sorter
[3] I opened each of the data file and scrolled in different directions:
vertical scrolling, horizontal scrolling, rapid combination of both vertical
and horizontal
[4] I opened each of the data file and used different scrolling functions:
using the mouse wheel, dragging of scroll bars, using the trackpad

I’m aware that there’s a difference in the OS we used to test, although at this
point my suspicion is if the problem is with the OS or OO Impress itself then I
expect to see some bugs raised related to this. I didn’t find any related to
scrolling (or navigating) and crashing.

FOLLOW-UP TESTS: I suggest we isolate further if the file contents or OO
Installation is relevant to replicate the bug.

Can you do further tests using:
(1) an entirely different file on the same OO instance and same machine; and
(2) the same file from your original report (make sure you have a backup of
that file) but with OO on a different machine.
Hopefully these will provide insights whether the issue is with the file or
with the OO instance.

This appears to be a serious bug considering: (1) it involves crashing; (2) it
involves a frequently-used function (scrolling); (3) it results to file
corruption, thus identifying the critical scenario is important. It will also
be helpful if you provide:

-- The FILE you used; please post in this report a public share link from
WeTransfer or another cloud storage (Dropbox or Google Drive) so we can try to
recreate the issue and minimise the variables. Alternatively, kindly describe
the contents of the file you used particularly if there’s anything more than
text and images e.g. does it have charts, drawings, objects, video/sound,
plugins?

-- The OO CRASH REPORT. Try to recreate the issue from the original machine and
once the crash occurs, take note of your local time and timezone settings. When
OO's crash report dialog appears, send through the report (additional
instructions here: https://wiki.openoffice.org/wiki/CrashReporting or in OO’s
menu Help > Support > then search for "Crash Report” topic. Then log the date
and time, including your PC’s timezone here.

-- STEPS. Please also provide a step-by-step instruction on how you encountered
the issue. Alternatively, you can also record your steps - from the time you
open the file until it occurs - using a screen recording tool (e.g. Jing,
Screenpresso, or your phone’s camera) and upload the file here (with minimal
file size if possible)

-- WINDOWS EVENT LOG (optional but might be helpful). If you can also get the
event log of your machine, please attach here in txt format. You can see
instructions here:
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-ph/windows/open-event-viewer#1TC=windows-7 and
