${jakarta-site2} is specified within build.properties, not build.xml. Please 
also see build.properties.sample.

The comment in build.xml is wrong. It should read
  "Construct classpath for building the html pages"
instead of 
  " Construct compile classpath"

${site2.classpath} is not needed for compiling the log4j classes. I have 
corrected this bug in our CVS repository.
