REPORT #13 Details.
Project: Tomcat
Category: Bug Report
SubCategory: New Bug Report
Class: swbug
State: received
Priority: high
Severity: critical
Confidence: public
Environment:
Release: 3.1
JVM Release: 1.2.2
Operating System: Solaris
OS Release: 2.6
Platform: SPARC
Synopsis:
Class name conflicts in JSP
Description:
The Calendar example bombs with
/home/lefevrol/java/tomcat-3.2/work/localhost_8080%2Fexamples/_0002fjsp_0002fcal
_0002fcal_00031_0002ejspcal1_jsp_0.java:76:
Ambiguous class: java.lang.Exception and cal.Exception
} catch (Exception exc) {
where cal is a package that is in my CLASSPATH. This must
be a rather common situation. I wonder if the jsp compiler
shouldn't fully qualify all class names.
