[jira] [Updated] (HADOOP-8938) add option to do better diags of
startup configuration
Steve Loughran updated HADOOP-8938:
-----------------------------------
Attachment: hdiag.py
This is not integrated with bin/hadoop; its what I use after execing all the preamble scripts , especially {{hadoop-config.sh}} to see what the environment variables currently are. It shows what I've found useful in the past

> Key: HADOOP-8938

> Components: bin
> Affects Versions: 1.1.0, 2.0.2-alpha

> HADOOP-8931 shows a symptom of a larger problem: we need better diagnostics of what all the environment variables and settings going through the hadoop scripts to find out why something isn't working.
> Ideally some command line parameter to the scripts (or even: a new environment variable) could trigger more display of critical parameters.
