The procedure described in the Wiki at https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/pages/viewpage.action?pageId=34014652 is incorrect.

The first openssl conversion step will give you an empty file.

The correct procedure is:

    openssl enc -base64 -in encryptedpassword -out binarytext -d -A
    openssl rsautl -decrypt -in binarytext -out plaintext -inkey private.pem

Please correct the wiki page and add detail in the API doc to the base64 format of the API getVMpassword result.
