Generating response with 'Expires:'

Hi,

	I am using apache_1.3.22. For testing purpose, I need 
 'Expires:' header from the web-server. I compiled the apache 
 by enabling the mod_expires.c module

 The .htaccess file contains the following diretives.
 ExpiresActive On
 ExpiresByType text/html M6048
 ExpiresByType text/plain A3600


 Still I am not able to get the Expires: header. Can anybody 
 tell me what I am missing ?
