   I tested against following case on Java 8:
   ```
   long.class.cast(1L);
   ```
   Then I encountered ClassCastException:
   ```
   Exception in thread "main" java.lang.ClassCastException: Cannot cast java.lang.Long to long
   ```
   
   Are we on different platforms?
