STR:
1) Install Cluster with HDFS, HBase on version 2.2.9.
2) Add Ranger
This will install a file, set-hdfs-plugin-env.sh into /etc/hadoop/conf (this is normal)
3) Add Repository for 2.3.4-3396
4) Perform EU.
This will fail on NN restart with:
Failed to find Premain-Class manifest attribute in /usr/hdp/2.3.4.0-3396/hadoop/lib/ranger-hdfs-plugin-shim-0.5.0.2.3.4.0-3396.jar
Error occurred during initialization of VM
agent library failed to init: instrument
This happens because the .sh file gets copied into the new config directory /etc/hadoop/2.3.4.0-3396/0 and gets sourced by ranger. However, the java class no longer supports the mechanism for Premain-Class (it has changed to use the Hadoop mechanism)
