[jira] Created: (INFRA-1031) New private repo creation request
New private repo creation request
---------------------------------
Key: INFRA-1031
URL: http://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/INFRA-1031
Project: Infrastructure
Issue Type: Task
Security Level: public (Regular issues)
Components: Subversion
Environment: n/a
Reporter: Jim Jagielski
Now that we are scanning all ASF documents, we need a location to place them. To avoid overpopulating the 'foundation' SVN repo, we need a new private SVN repo created that will be used to house/store scanned documents (such as iCLAs, etc). The consensus is that the new repo be named 'documents' and thus be:
https://svn.apache.org/repos/private/documents/
It is requested that it be:
[/documents]
@pmc-chairs = rw
@secassist = rw

----------------------------------------
No change necessary to asf-mailer.conf, since the default for the private repository is foundation-cvs@.

Yes, as the URL indicates, a new TLD under the existing private repo.
Since updates to foundation/officers go to 'foundation-cvs@apache.org' that is fine as well.

Noel J. Bergman commented on INFRA-1031:
----------------------------------------
Since the new structure is in place to avoid burdening the foundation area, I followed the access control used for foundation/ in addition to adding the requested ACL. I believe that the following:
[/documents]
@members = rw
@legal = rw
* =
@pmc-chairs = rw
@secassist = rw
represents a close proximity to what you want. Members and Legal, plus PMC Chairs and SecAssist can modify, and no one else has visibility. Please confirm or request any change(s).

You don't really mean a new repository, right? You just want a new top level directory within the private repository.
And to where do you want the commit notices mailed?
Please confirm, and I can get to it today if no one beats me to it.
