Apology and explanation

I suggested creation of the recruitment mailing list as a vehicle to
communicated with new participants in the Openoffice community, with
less traffic than the dev@openoffice.apache.org mailing list.

I am very sorry for my non-involvement for the last few months, which I
can now explain.

Soon after it was created, I started spending all my available
Openoffice time on some security bugs. While we had even minor known
security bugs for which we did not have fixes I could not discuss the
matter outside a couple of private mailing lists. I could neither
involve you in my activities, nor explain why I could not do so.

Those fixes are in the 4.1.4 release.

Rather late, I got smart enough to ask Peter Kovacs to keep an eye on
this mailing list.

We should investigate!

I recently found out about:
https://helpwanted.apache.org/

Wouldn't this be a good tool to make our tasks visible?

Dennis Hamilton already opened one some time ago, but I never knew that
it existed:
https://helpwanted.apache.org/task.html?d7d4b55f275b2025c2f04d94207b1a00d5e6f624

I'd like to integrate it in our homepage, but I am uncertain where it
would fit best...

Let me add: while we were working on 4.1.4 we still did identify some
tasks that would be suitable for this list but that are for future
releases anyway. I expect that those tasks will be posted to the
recruitment list now that we are ready to restart work on the next release.

   Andrea.
