suggestion about putting URLs in issues

Paul, this is going to seem like an odd request, but: can you put URLs
in the description field of the issue, instead of in the URL?

IssueZilla automatically senses URLs in the descriptions and makes
them into links -- so they're easily clickable, which is not the case
with the URL field. Also, the URL field is far above the description,
so it's off screen when the description is visible, and vice versa
(depending on how your browser lays things out, of course).

I should say, it's fine to use the URL field if you want, but the main
thing is to *also* use the description, so we get the linkification.

Thanks,
-Karl

I knew that, and I assume Karl does to. He seemed to want to want
something more, so I've updated all "My issues" in IZ.

Actually, you can click the text "Url" next to the Url field, and it
takes you to the Url that's in the field.

Not completely. Is the stu based on incandescent or fluorescent lights?
IMO, the later are much more difficult to replace than the former;
approx. somewhere in the vicininity of pi, for some reason. Which
makes fixing IZ far more difficult than if the number you gave was
inadvertantly referencing an incandescent-based stu.

:)

As I said to Mike, I knew that, and assumed you did, but had your
reasons for wanting what you wanted :)

Well, I don't care either way. What ever is easiest for you guys to
deal with. Though, ultimately, with enough comments on any one
issue, the link in the initial entry will migrate it's way
up the page, still requiring you to scroll up.

Also, now that Sander's back, this is more a thing for him to
concerned about (at least until he goes on vacation again :)

I feel so dumb. Mike just pointed out that the word "URL" becomes a
live link when the field has contents, which I never noticed.

I guess it's still nice to have the URL down there in the description,
so one doesn't have to scroll back, but that's less important than the
link thing.

Sheepishly,

Well, I only did those under 'My issues', and there were only 8 or so
of those which showed up (I thought there were more, but maybe some
have been resolved).

It's a fair question -- and the answer is: 84988216.37 stu, where
"stu" is a "Standard Trouble Unit".

The reference standard trouble unit is a platinum cube stored in a
temperature-controlled vault in Paris (or is it Geneva? I can never
remember...). It represents the amount of trouble involved in
changing one light bulb.

Does that answer your question?

Heeeeeheeeee. I love requests like this. Just because they make me laugh :)

Of course, Sander Roobol is back on the job now, so it's probably
best to make sure he knows going forward.

Should I even bother to ask how much trouble it is to get IZ to
'do the right thing' wrt the URL field ;)
